See Pickleball was actually “cool” at one point, a hobby where young people gathered enjoy some light competition. It was also a place where older folks could join in due to the miniature style court, meaning there was much less movement required. As Pickleball grew, people realized that they never even needed to be athletic to be “GREAT” at this wonderful game. It was so inclusive that anyone could play! This went right along with the times we live in, as I am sure you can imagine. Thats when things took a dark turn…Neighborhoods with HOA’s and 55+ yr olds started feeling athletic again. Unfortunately, with nothing better to do, they organize, multiply (like a virus), and have friends that sit on boards of HOA’s. See, most of the young people in neighborhoods don’t have time to participate in the politics of their own community, nor do they want to. To add to it, you have the wealthy middle-aged person that doesn’t work, gets their Pickleball certificate as a Pro, and “Voila”, we have an army that cannot be stopped. The interesting thing is that throughout the country, they do not just want to build new courts, they want tennis courts. It is a phenomenon so apparent, even Novak Djokovic spoke out against it. This club is here to help Pickleball return to its rightful place amongst games.
